ST IVES RESIDENCE: design & renovation

The Eco Lux bathroom renovations by St James Whitting at St Ives has certainly demonstrated the value of innovative spatial design. The original ensuite was originally a tired 1980s interior with an oh so elegant apricot corner spa bath and cramped vanity area. The clients bravely embraced a new interior design solution that totally reinvented the interior. A master suite was created with the integration of an L shape shower as the central hub of the bathroom, creating the perfect slope and draingage for a double shower that boasts Australian made stainless steel tapware, fittings and fixtures. The L shape shower design created a dramatic external feature wall to adorn with vitrified porcelain hexagonal tiles and elegantly frame the freestanding bath whilst concealing all plumbing,

The clients embraced a neutral, earthy, elegant, hotel inspired  palette and a sustainable suite of eco-friendly and durable materials that will stand the test of time, be healthy to live with and create a  a spa-like ambience. Tapware and fixtures are durable, eco-friendly stainless-steel and the ceiling is painted in low VOC Resene Alabaster White. Heated towel rails ensure the towels are never damp and a fan/light/heat provides added ventilation and warmth.
