Hi Kate,

After a flurry of rather quick decision making we are now on a well-timed  holiday.

Your guidance for our project was absolutely invaluable.

I will certainly send photos through as we see them from the builder. There may well be a time where I send an s.o.s.

Love to have you down to look at finished bathrooms and take photos.

Matt the Resene painter is finishing up today. He’s done the bedroom, hall, dining and living room.

The fossil colour is absolutely beautiful.

I’m very happy and also the low odour has been a relief this time of year with the gas
heater on.

So it’s all go at my place.

Many thanks again for your ideas and professionalism.

28 years ago I contacted Kate St James to completely renovate and furnish my home in Queensland. That first project was such a resounding success that I subsequently asked her to redesign and fit out my company’s offices. The success of this work led to further projects for my company, my business colleagues and my personal requirements including office design and fit out, residential housing, aged care and retirement living and unit living.

I have always been extremely happy with the quality and standard of Kate’s work and it is always a pleasure to work with her as she is the consummate professional; always delivering projects that have style and flair, are well considered for their purpose, functional and practical. Kate is always on hand with suggestions to do things more efficiently and creatively and I have always relied on her knowledge and professionalism to resolve our design dilemmas on budget and on time. Kate has an amazing ability to visualize a space and realise its full potential as well as communicating with builders and trades to ensure each project is perfectly resolved.

I am about to embark on another project with Kate and I know that this will receive the same skill, expertise, flair and attention to detail that she brings to all of her work. I have no hesitation in recommending Kate St James and I encourage anyone seeking the services of a professional designer to contact Kate; it will be the best decision you ever make.

After so many years working together in the writing and editing of material for the design industry, it was so stimulating to have you and your architect and design colleagues in Italy. Thanks so much for your tremendous input to this highly successful international study program. It was not only your ability to assess and discuss complex design issues with your colleagues, all of whom work at a high level of expertise, that contributed so greatly to the whole experience, but that you were able to captivate their minds and encourage their thought process through your commanding presence at the lectern, a unique skill when working with a group of highly creative and free thinking people. Your ability as an Editor is well known, appreciated and frequently called upon in the design industry, but I am so impressed with the uncommon skill you show when you address and work with professionals at such a high level. Your success is evidence of your ability.

Kate St James’ involvement in building and interior design spans more than 30 years, during which time I have worked with her on projects from home renovations and new builds, and commercial projects including health, aged care, and hospitality in Australia and Singapore.

Not one to follow trends, Kate takes each project and considers clients’ work and lifestyle requirements, always tailoring solutions to individual tastes and needs. Her grasp of spatial planning, colour, balance, scale and proportion ensures that projects are always well considered and that spaces are used in the most practical way. Kate’s belief that all interiors should enhance the health and wellbeing of occupants, specifying only the most environmentally sustainable, eco-friendly products and practices, ensures interiors not only look great but also enhance the health and wellbeing of occupants.

Kate is currently working with me on a zero carbon urban development in Lismore. This project will be a better than 8-Star Green Star project, approaching Passive House Certification.

– 25 Sales from the display unit

“These represent 25 sales, or 70% of the development sold in only 8 weeks and 10 million dollars in sales when other developments in the area remain unsold.”

…Catherine Whitting’s interior styling techniques made the unit seen like something of a much higher price bracket.

This is the second time I have used your company’s services and both times the end result for the client has been fantastic and has made my job much easier…the development consisted of some 35 brand new townhouses. The town homes had been for sale through construction with only five being sold prior to your help… We got your team in to help decorate a unit. This enabled us to sell the remaining 30 units, showing off the young, hip lifestyle that this complex had to offer – and what a result…The completed unit had brilliant feature walls, ultra modern furniture and a true sense of style brought about by the coordinating of the existing, somewhat bland interior, with a colour scheme, art and furniture collection that worked within this existing scheme to enhance and make the unit seem like something of a much higher price bracket. But the bottom line is, now eight weeks later, there are only five units remaining to be sold. These represent 25 sales, or 70% of the development sold in only eight weeks and 10 million dollars in sales when other developments in the area remain unsold.
Congratulations on another success story, I will be working with you again in the future.

I found  Catherine Whitting to be very professional and helpful at all times. She let me know exactly what was happening at all times. The end product was nothing short of amazing, with the transformation that was made to the property. I can honestly say that the price achieved for the property would have been considerably harder to obtain, if not impossible. I believe that it enhanced the sale price by at least $100,000.

After many months on the market with very little sales, I called in Cath’s team. They completely fitted out 1 of the 4 properties with beautiful furnishings and within eight weeks. I have sold all four homes. Thank you for seeing the potential of our properties.

I bit the bullet and spent 50K transforming an old red brick 1950’s house into something incredible and amazing with Catherine Whitting and her team at Décor InStyle. Catherine’s advice and ideas enabled me to get a very profitable sale. I made an extra $150,000.00 when I sold it. What a success. They are now decorating my business and an investment property I own.;

My business has grown to a ridiculous level and I now LOVE coming to work
