Designing for a global market
St James Whitting was recently invited by global partnership VIDA to become one of its featured artists. VIDA is a social enterprise company; a collaboration between designers and makers around the world that create beautiful products that are original and ethically-produced.
We are very excited about this opportunity as it allows us to share our designs around the world on products such as cushions, throws and garments while also making a difference in someone’s life by creating employment and providing education for the manufacturers.
VIDA presents an alternative to the homogeneous, disposable products that increasingly dominate the retail market. They produce only that which is purchased, bringing into the world only items that are wanted.
VIDA is a collaboration among global citizens – from a designer in Sydney, to a producer in Karachi, and a consumer in San Francisco – we are a global partnership of co-creators.
