Cat's Kitchen 2.0
Our client, a signature chef recently featured on SBS TV required the current disconnected spaces to be unified in form and function and to provide a larger prep, cooking and work space in the mid section of the home, that is currently fragmented across three zones. The current small triangular kitchen area was to be redesigned and elongated to allow for more bench space and ergonomic and multi functional cooking appliances. There was provision to close off the study door and utilise the broom cupboard, upper dining area and current breakfast nook near the double doors in the space planning of the new design. Stylistic preferences of our client are classic, natural earthy tones that are durable, a love of sky blue, finishes that are easy to maintain, complement the aesthetic of the master bedroom, cathedral ceiling dining, and era of the property in an organic Hamptons inspired palette with architectural hardware that complements the existing finishes on site. Storage was paramount as is unity of design. The space planning was required to work around the existing double staircase, and provide unity in the mid and upper sections of the kitchen area.
